It goes Christmas, New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day. Is that fair to anyone who's alone? These are all days you gotta be with someone. And if you didn't get around to killing yourself at Christmas or New Year's, boom! There's Valentine's Day. I think there should be one more after Valentine's Day just called, 'Who could love you?'

I find the loneliness to be systemic. It lessens with self-love more than with community, even the community of an intimate partnership. Or two.
I don't know the key to self-love, but I suspect that it begins with kindness to self. Eating salads. Sleeping regularly. Taking in what brings on a good belly laugh. Do we not, after all, love more easily they who are kind to us?
I fully embrace love for our enemy as among the noblest of pursuits. But let us not place our own precious selves on that plane.
My $0.02.
